About Humboldt Redwood

Humboldt Redwood Company, LLC (HRC) was formed in July 2008. Certified to the standards of the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®), Humboldt Redwood works to cultivate a lasting legacy of environmentally responsible forestry practices. The company’s Redwood and Douglas-fir timberland operations encompass 327 square miles (209,300 acres). The company has access to another half million acres through a long-term log purchase agreement with Green Diamond Resource Company. Along with its sister company, Allweather Wood, Humboldt Redwood offers a unique mix of dimensional lumber for timber frame, post-and-beam, industrial, commercial, residential, and outdoor living construction projects.

Since its inception, Humboldt Redwood Company has sought to duplicate what has worked well for sister companies, Mendocino Redwood Company, LLC (MRC®) and Mendocino Forest Products Company, LLC (MFP). Like MRC and MFP, Humboldt Redwood’s timberlands and manufacturing operations became FSC certified shortly after the company was formed. FSC is a non-governmental, non-profit organization that promotes the responsible management of the world’s forests. You may view our Scotia Sawmill FSC Chain-of-Custody Certificate here.

Our Operations

Our Sawmill in Scotia, California is the manufacturing hub for Humboldt Redwood. It utilizes the latest in computerized processing software and equipment in order to maximize the yield of each log that comes into the mill. Primary products produced include Humboldt Redwood timbers, dimensional lumber, decking, and Douglas-fir dimensional lumber. These lumber products are then transported to the company’s distribution centers where customer orders are processed
and shipped.

Our Distribution Centers, located in Woodland and Fontana, California, are well-situated near major Interstate corridors, enabling us to quickly and efficiently supply our customers with the products they need, including Humboldt Redwood timbers, dimensional, decking, and Douglas-fir, as well as Allweather Wood pressure treated lumber.
